Laugh & Learn

Laugh & Learn will be held in-person January 21 at 10:00 am.  It is designed for children ages 5 and under and allows them to practice kindergarten readiness skills through play.  Our theme this month is Winter.  

Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Social distancing and masking guidelined outlined by UK will be followed.  Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Click here or call 270-365-2787 to register. 

Exploring the Underground Railroad Through Quilts

This lesson will be held via Zoom February 3 at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. It will focus on how it is thought quilts were used to guide slaves to safe houses using different quilt blocks as an intricate code system guiding them to freedom.  Join us as we explore the rich history of the Underground Railroad during Black History Month.  Email ashley.board@uky.edu for the Zoom link. 

Big Blue Book Club

We are excited to announce the return of Big Blue Book Club. Our first book of 2022, The Less People Know About Us: A Mystery of Betrayal, Family Secrets, and Stolen Identity, by Axton Betz-Hamilton is a riveting, true story of the life changing impact of identity theft. The author and identity theft expert shares the story of her life that "inspired her career and nearly destroyed her family."

On-going: Laugh & Learn To Go (Facebook Group)

This program is designed to build kindergarten readiness skills among preschool age children.  A Facebook group showcasing a variety of activity and books ideal for ages 5 and under has been created for caregivers.  Activities are added throughout the month.  Click here to join.
